The Czech national football team is the country’s representative team in official competitions. Controlled by the Football Association of the Czech Republic, it is a member of UEFA.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Bohemia (part of today’s Czech Republic) had its own national team. Thus, after the formation of Czechoslovakia after the First World War, the Czechoslovak national team was born, considered the predecessor of the current Czech national team by FIFA. This team has great prestige worldwide, due to the achievements of the Czechoslovak national team, which won the runners-up of the World Cup in 1934 and 1962 and the title of Euro 1976.
